How we work together.
The terms of engagement for the studio. A template, finalised per engagement and signed with the quote.
- 01
Engagement Selective
We take one engagement at a time, by selection. Work begins once scope and terms are agreed in writing.
- 02
Scope Defined
Each project is defined by a written scope: objectives, deliverables, and the outcome we optimise for. Anything beyond it is a separate conversation.
- 03
Fees Fixed
Quoted as a fixed engagement fee against scope, never by the hour. A deposit secures the dates; the balance follows agreed milestones.
- 04
Timeline & revisions Bounded
Phases carry defined review points and a bounded set of revisions — enough to get it right, structured to keep momentum.
- 05
Ownership On completion
On final payment, ownership of the delivered work transfers to you. The studio retains the right to show the work unless agreed otherwise.
- 06
Confidentiality Discreet
Unreleased work is held private. We are glad to work under your NDA; discretion is part of the service.
- 07
Downpayment Non-refundable
Projects begin with a 50% downpayment. It confirms your place in the schedule and covers the opening phase. It is non-refundable: once research, planning, design or development has begun, those hours cannot be recovered. Cancelling after kickoff does not entitle you to a refund.
- 08
Responsibilities & deadlines On time
Timelines depend on both sides: content, feedback, approvals and access arrive on time. If required materials or approvals are not received within 5 business days of the agreed date, the project is placed on hold and resumes once everything is submitted. Resuming displaces other work, so a rescheduling fee applies and a new timeline is issued. If nothing is received within 30 days of the pause, the engagement is considered void; work completed to that point is retained and no refund is issued, including the downpayment.
- 09
Final payment & delivery Before handover
The remaining 50% is due on completion, before the final deliverable is handed over or published. Access to the code, store or assets is granted once full payment is confirmed.
- 10
Scope changes Quoted separately
Work is scoped and quoted against the brief agreed at kickoff. Anything outside it is treated as separate work and quoted accordingly. Out-of-scope work does not begin without written confirmation.
- 11
Revisions Consolidated
Each project includes the number of revision rounds set out in your quote. Revisions are submitted as a single consolidated list, not in stages. Additional rounds are billed at the standard hourly rate of $75.
